Luma VMS Technical Specifications

Video decoding is a processor-intensive process, especially when viewing multiple high-definition streams. Your VMS system needs lots of processing power, memory, and a dedicated graphics card.

As of January 2024, the VMS is limited to 256 camera streams at a time.

Software Requirements

Your system should run Windows 10 x64 or better.

Firewall

The default ports for Luma VMS are shown here. If your system uses different ports, you'll need to modify these values in the Luma VMS Server App.

Server Port Type Port
Authentication Server Internal Port 6003
Configuration Server Internal Port 7002
Media Transfer Server Internal Port 6006
Auto Report Port 2009
Alarm Server Internal Port 6033
Intelligent Server Internal Port 6069

Hardware Requirements

The monitor you use for the VMS must have a resolution of 1280×960 or better.

Standard performance system:

  • CPU: 17-9500 @ 3.0 GHz

  • RAM: 16 GB

  • Card: Intel HD Graphics 630

Medium performance system:

  • CPU: 15-7400 @ 3.0 GHz

  • RAM: 16 GB

  • Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

High performance system:

  • CPU: 17-11700 @ 2.5 GHz

  • RAM: 32 GB

  • Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 8GB
